At EndoscopyMD, we offer a free endoscope evaluation because we believe you should know exactly what you’re working with before making any decisions about repair, refurbishment, or replacement. No commitment required. No invoice waiting on the other end. Just a clear, professional assessment of where your equipment stands, with free round-trip shipping included.
Here’s exactly how it works.
What the Free Evaluation Actually Is
The free endoscope evaluation is a no-obligation diagnostic inspection performed by our experienced endoscope technicians. You ship us your scope (or scopes), and we put them through a full assessment – the same one we’d run before beginning any repair work.
This isn’t a quick visual once-over. It’s a structured evaluation designed to detect obvious exterior damage and the subtle internal issues that are easy to miss until they become expensive problems.
What We’re Looking For
When one of your endoscopes arrives at our facility, our technicians assess it across several key areas:
Insertion Tube Damage: We inspect the full length of the insertion tube for wear & tear, buckling, cracking, dents, or other damage. Exterior damage here is often the first sign of deeper structural stress on the insertion tube and/or channels, and it’s something that gets worse with every additional procedure if left unaddressed.
Exterior Damage: We inspect the exterior of the scope, including the control head, buttons, plug unit, electrical connector, bending section, bending rubber, c-cover, lenses, seals, and glue joints. These all represent single points of failure that, if undetected, could lead to costly fluid invasion and severe damage.
Angulation Issues: We test the range of motion in all directions, checking for stiffness, sluggish or uneven deflection, resistance in the control wires, and any deviation from manufacturer specs. A scope that doesn’t deflect properly isn’t just inconvenient; it can compromise procedure quality and patient safety.
Image Quality: We check image clarity, brightness, and color fidelity. We’re looking for fogging, discoloration, hazing, or any distortion that would affect your ability to see clearly during a procedure.
Leak Testing: Every scope undergoes a leak test. This is one of the most critical steps. Fluid invasion is the leading cause of severe (and costly) endoscope damage. Many scopes that appear fine externally have small breaches that are silently allowing corrosive fluid into the internal components.
Working Channel & Accessories: We inspect the working channel for damage, debris, or obstruction, and assess the condition of valves, connectors, soaking caps, and other accessories that can affect the functionality of the scope.
Light Guide & Electrical Components: We evaluate the light guide tube, light guide bundle, and identify broken fibers that can impact light output. We also check critical electrical components and connectors for corrosion or damage.
What You’ll Get Back
After the evaluation is complete, you’ll receive a detailed written technician evaluation covering:
- The overall condition of each scope evaluated
- A specific breakdown of technician findings and issues found, with transparent, straightforward explanations (not just part numbers and misleading line items)
- A summary of required repairs – if any – along with any repairs deemed optional (e.g., not required at this time but recommended by the technician). Not every finding requires immediate action. If our technician identifies something worth watching, we’ll note it separately with context on urgency, so you can plan around it rather than react to it.
- A recommended course of action – whether that’s a targeted repair, a full refurbishment, or confirmation that the scope is in good shape and ready to use
- Transparent pricing for any recommended repair work, so you can make an informed decision without any pressure
You decide what happens next. If you’d like to move forward with a repair, we’ll get started. If you’d rather have the scope returned as-is, we’ll send it back. The evaluation itself costs you nothing.
Why We Offer This
Endoscopes are precision devices. They’re also a significant investment, and when something isn’t working right, it’s not always obvious why, or how serious it actually is. We’ve seen plenty of scopes written off as “beyond repair” when they really just needed the right technician, and we’ve seen scopes that looked fine from the outside hiding damage that was one procedure away from becoming a much bigger problem.
The free evaluation exists because we’d rather you have the full picture. It helps you make smarter decisions about your equipment, your budget, and ultimately your patients’ care.
One More Thing: We Evaluate All Modalities
The free evaluation isn’t limited to a single scope type. EndoscopyMD offers the same no-obligation assessment across:
- Flexible endoscopes
- Rigid endoscopes
- Surgical cameras
- Power equipment
Whatever you’re working with, the same process applies.
